Need a little  inspiration for a perfect bushveld wedding setting? We've teamed up with a few creatives to create something natural and warm in the heart of Lunikhy Game Farm. Inspired by Pantone colour of the year, Greenery, and our beautiful South African sunsets we used this natural setting and nature inspired elements such as wood, cement and natural grey linen. The salad greens and freshly baked bread compliments this theme just perfectly. Being in the middle of autumn this calls for the perfect setting to celebrate in true South African style and experience the amazing sunsets of Lunikhy Game Farm.

A SUNRISE BUSHVELD CEREMONY AT MONATE GAME LODGE

12/7/2016

In a previous blog post where we featured a bushveld reception at Monate Game Lodge I mentioned that we did a sunrise ceremony and this is it!

The early bird catches the crisp sunrise golden light!  Our aim was to create a beautiful and relaxed sunrise ceremony before guests head out to game drives and picnics.  Surrounded by bushveld and fresh air, this informal seating and blankets to keep you warm through the I do's, fresh canapés and champagne, of course, makes for the perfect sunrise ceremony.

This creative concept was coordinated and curated by Natja Reney Lifestylist, hair and make-up by Anna Pepper from The Refinery, on the day stationery by Chrystalace, jewellery pieces by Dear Rae, bride's dress from Silver Swallow and decor and furniture supplied by Live Simple.

This shoot has been featured on The Pretty Blog.

A SUNSET BUSHVELD RECEPTION AT MONATE GAME LODGE

Recently myself and a super team spent a week away at Monate Game Lodge in Limpopo to create a beautiful weekend wedding bridal inspiration!  We wanted to showcase a beautiful and classic yet different weekend luxury bushveld wedding.  We started with a bush boma welcome dinner next to the lions camp.  We woke up for an early sunrise ceremony (to be featured on my blog soon) whereafter the guests and bridal couple gets to enjoy a day to themselves, have a picnic, go on a game drives and then head to a magical reception dinner under the starry skies in the open bush.

The team consisted out of myself as photographer, Natja Reney Lifestylist as lifestylist, curator and coordinator, JeanetLenore as logistical coordinator, Anna Pepper from The Refinery on Hair & Make-up, exquisite wedding invitations and on the day stationery from Chrystalace, jewellery pieces by amazing local talent Dear Rae, brides dress from Silver Swallow and decor and furniture supplied by Live Simple.

These vibrant yet soft colour combinations of blues and oranges combined with bush elements and candles definitely creates a very romantic feel and I love how the fresh pears make out to be amazing decor elements!

We really had the best time at Monate and with the help from Monate's friendly staff and coordinators we really got to create something beautiful and different for brides getting married.  Monate Game Lodge offers something amazing for the classic bride looking for something different and a luxury bushveld experience!

Modern Pride & Prejudice

9/15/2016

There is universally something utterly romantic about old English love novels. These novels create the perfect setup for the ultimate loves stories that include a heroine on a journey to find love either in a beautiful English landscape setting with charming cottages and open fields or beautiful public balls held in enchanted mansions filled with opulence.

This styled shoot explores the romance of these beautiful, idyllic spaces through an elegant tablescape with elegant silverware, vintage handkerchiefs with embroidery and loose organic floral arrangements with dark English forest greens and hints of this year's pantone pair, Rose Quartz and Serenity. The Indoor setting has reminiscent elements of an English cottage with enchanting candlelight, lanterns and a fireplace accompanied with a traditional old English wedding laurel as part of the backdrop. The simplistic white wedding cake is decorated with the flowers used in the table arrangements and placed in the classic English barn setting where we often find our favourite leading ladies.

In the olden days no public ball would be held without a formal invitation. The invitation suite’s look is a combination of a formal layout with matching handwritten emerald calligraphy and swashes accompanied with a soft pink envelope and an artistic printed inner of the painting by Jean-Honoré Fragonard’s the Swing, also found on the vintage crockery, reminding one of the Baroque paintings found in the beautiful mansions of the Edwardian era and matches the shoots hues perfectly.

The beautiful bygone era dresses add to the romance and enchantment with their sheer detail, fine jewelled elements and old school charm cut to make any leading man blush at the sight of such splendour. The soft sophisticated hair with matching elegant broaches and jewellery is beautifully paired with soft make-up tones of browns and pinks for a natural innocent bridal look.

In the last setting our leading lady finds herself in a outdoor field with large trees at sunset as we so often read about in our favourite classic novels, where our heroine contemplates the decisions of her love journey.

This modern Pride & Prejudice bridal inspiration is featuring on Hochzeitguide. Head over to their blog to view the feature.
“A lady's imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony in a moment.”
