I wish you a safe journey back and will meet you soon in Cape Town.
Once in a while I get a lovely client requests from Sweet Escape for clients traveling from overseas who would like to capture a beautiful South African sunset because you don't get these anywhere else! Daffodil and Mitchell came all the way from Singapore to visit our beautiful country and spending the afternoon with them was so refreshing and a lot of fun. Exchanging "In South Africa" and "In our country" stories are my favorite!
I wish you a safe journey back and will meet you soon in Cape Town.
Carla came to me with the idea to do a shoot for her and Hein's first wedding anniversary and I just loved the idea. I always love photographing other photographers, in some way it always guarantees a beautiful shoot, but it also adds the pressure of delivering good quality service and work! Carla & Hein made the above super easy and such a pleasure. Their radiant young love is so evident in these images and mutual respect is what captures them best!
May you celebrate many, many more wedding anniversaries together!

Georgiana and Asyer are from Indonesia and paid a recent visit to South Africa. I was fortunate enough to capture special parts of their vacation. I first met them in the Kruger Park where we did a lifestyle shoot and then again when they made their way to Johannesburg. They wanted a true inner city experience and what better place than Maboneng to capture this.
I asked them these 2 questions and I love how true and pure their answers are:
His best qualities:
"Growing up, I didn't have a male role model. Past experiences had taught me that all men are not trustworthy. There was a point in my life that I decided not to get married, because what are men for in my life if I can do things on my own, right? But then I met Asyer. He taught me that it is okay to be weak and vulnerable but also with the assurance that he will always be there when I need him. He's definitely very different than typical men in the current society or maybe my society. One major thing that makes Asyer different than other men is his ego. He doesn't have that excess amount of ego that typical men has. He wouldn't get mad if he feels like his masculinity is threatened. Asyer is a very cool and calm person. Obviously, very different with me. I feel like our differences are what makes us incredibly compatible. No matter how many times I try to doubt Asyer and create unnecessary problems in our relationship, he always proves that I am worth the fight and he is worth my time. I can always feel his unconditional love. And I hope we would stay like this eternally."
Her best qualities:
"Her best qualities for me are that she's intelligent, she's gorgeous, and also independent. At first, I didn't really want to have a girlfriend who is younger than me because I didn't want to become a babysitter. But at time goes by, I realize that she is the one who babysits me. Even though she's younger than me, she is very mature and guides me to the right path. She now supports me in my life choices and my business. She helps me see the bigger picture and encourages me to always aim high and achieve something that I have never thought about. I feel blessed that God gave me answers to all my prayers through her. She can be really hard on me sometimes, but deep down I know that she just wants me to be a better man. This is what makes me want to spend the rest of my life with her."
Thank you Georgiana & Asyer for sharing your time in South Africa with me. I am an amazing experience richer and I look forward to meeting with you again one day.

Bas and Inge met 11 years ago when he was trying to make her fall in love with one of his friends, it obviously didn't work! After studies they both decided to go work on yachts and docked at the mediterranean coastline for more than a month, that's when Bas & Inge fell in love with Italy! Soon after, Bas & Inge got engaged and after experiencing the rich Italian culture an cuisines Bas & Inge couldn't settle for a local wedding. They loved travelling and they both had the desire to travel to their favourite places with everyone they love!
After a year and a half of thorough planning, many culture differences and language barriers, Bas & Inge with a group a friends and family travelled to Tuscany, Italy for their big day. I was lucky to have spent an entire week with them in Italy before the wedding day and so we started a week of wedding celebrations with a spontaneous little engagement shoot just outside of Florence in a very small village called Bargino. The town was so small after 10 minutes of shooting we pretty much covered the town so we headed to the next town, San Cassiano. We explored the streets of San Cassiano and admired every little beautiful detail from the doors to the post boxes. We couldn't resist a little corner pizzeria and ended the session with fresh Italian bread and wine of course.
Their wedding was featured on the well curated International wedding blog, Magnolia Rouge! A full feature of their big day is coming to my blog soon!
Recently myself and a super team spent a week away at Monate Game Lodge in Limpopo to create a beautiful weekend wedding bridal inspiration! We wanted to showcase a beautiful and classic yet different weekend luxury bushveld wedding. We started with a bush boma welcome dinner next to the lions camp. We woke up for an early sunrise ceremony (to be featured on my blog soon) whereafter the guests and bridal couple gets to enjoy a day to themselves, have a picnic, go on a game drives and then head to a magical reception dinner under the starry skies in the open bush.
The team consisted out of myself as photographer, Natja Reney Lifestylist as lifestylist, curator and coordinator, JeanetLenore as logistical coordinator, Anna Pepper from The Refinery on Hair & Make-up, exquisite wedding invitations and on the day stationery from Chrystalace, jewellery pieces by amazing local talent Dear Rae, brides dress from Silver Swallow and decor and furniture supplied by Live Simple.
These vibrant yet soft colour combinations of blues and oranges combined with bush elements and candles definitely creates a very romantic feel and I love how the fresh pears make out to be amazing decor elements!
We really had the best time at Monate and with the help from Monate's friendly staff and coordinators we really got to create something beautiful and different for brides getting married. Monate Game Lodge offers something amazing for the classic bride looking for something different and a luxury bushveld experience!

I love getting to know clients before the wedding and one of the best ways are by doing an engagement shoot. In that way they get comfortable with photos and we get to know one another a little better.
After doing Justus and Chantelle's engagement shoot I'm not sure who's more excited for the wedding. We had such a good session and I loved getting to know them a little more and seeing how they enjoyed the photos more and more towards the end makes me so excited for their wedding day!
They're getting married at Netherwood in the Midlands in November and I can't wait to see how beautiful their wedding day is going to be and to be working amongst amazing suppliers.
Their love and respect for one another are so evident in these images, enjoy their beautiful engagement feature!
We celebrated Ruan & Alecia's one year anniversary by doing a lovely couple's shoot in the rose garden of Ludwig's Roses. Alecia is another dream client and brought so many pretty elements to the shoot. Their love for one another even after marriage is so inspiring and evident in these photos, Ruan admires Alecia and he definitely brings out the little girl in her.
We spent this lovely afternoon at Ludwig's Roses and caught the perfect golden light to capture these spontaneous moments. I wish this lovely couple many more happy years to come!

For their one month countdown before the wedding we celebrated their engagement with a lovely afternoon at Ludwig's Roses, we caught this beautiful rose farm just in time before they prune the roses. Thousands and thousands of beautiful roses and warm winter light made this venue the perfect setting for Edwin & Lee-Ann's engagement shoot. I adore this couple so much and Lee-Ann's beautiful energetic personality surely made my task easy and so much fun. These two love birds are getting married in just one month at the beautiful and exquisite Bordeaux Game Farm. I can't wait to see how beautiful this couple is going to look on their wedding day and capture their big day!

This engagement shoots definitely takes up a top spot on my list! I went to primary school with Michelle and recently got to do their engagement shoot. She's grown into a beautiful young woman and she's now getting married to the love of her love! This engagement shoot was so much fun and these two love birds left me capturing their young spontanious love and not having to direct much but getting the most real smiles and reaction. I can't wait to capture their wedding later this year at Imperfect Perfections.
I've been excited about this couple since the day I first met them. They effortlessly created the most beautiful canvas for me to photograph with love and admiration so evident in these photos for their engagement shoot. Louis has his ways of making Leanri laugh uncontrollably and Leanri's gentleness and beautiful smile brings that content look on his face. I cannot wait to capture their wedding day.
Leanri's make-up was flawlessly done by Jolandra Vd Merwe.
